"Symmetry" 2021 THEME WINNERS

Symmetry,  the similarity or exact correspondence between different things capture the eye of photographers every minute of every day.  These wonderful matching patterns made by nature or humans always seem to offer a soothing sense of balance and harmony.

Our Second Place Winner was submitted  by
Patrizia Burra from Gorizia, Italy

I am a painter and photographer. Painting gives a lot of energy, but it doesn't allows you to catch the moment. This is one of the main factor that lead me to the conclusion that I could not be a painter only.  My goal, as photographer, is to translate my more wild, passionate and restless vision into an image. "With photography we try to reproduce the world.  But the world is much more interesting when it becomes a work of art".

I think that photography and the images we create, are the realities transformed into dreams. Our life needs imagination, emotions, an inner impulse that leads us to create. I work every day and many hours a day. This is my way of venting, a road that may be open to everything. And it is in that way that I feel free to create. Here wonderful things can happen. Here, in this fantasy world, my creatures come to life by participating in my dreams.

Moon For Sale #7 Milos Nejezchleb

Picture
Our Third Place Winner was submitted by
Milos Nejezchleb from Jedovnice, Czech Republic

The Czech photographer Miloš Nejezchleb was born in 1978. He lives in the Czech Republic and has three children.

He has only been involved in conceptual photography since 2016; however, he has already won several prestigious international awards. He is the absolute winner of the Fine Art Photography Award in London (2021), where he won the FINE ART PHOTOGRAHER OF THE YEAR title. He is the winner of the Malta International Photo Award (2020), two-time gold medalist in the Trierenberg Super Circuit competition in Linz and he is also, among others, the winner of Czech Press Photo (2018). This year he is a finalist in the Arte Laguna Prize art festival in Venice, which takes place in October. The most characteristic features of his photographs are strikingly colored elements with a clear focus on the artistic side of photography. He likes to use minimalism, symmetry and elements of surrealism.

Miloš often chooses current social topics, which he processes as stories using photographic series. These stories are told by the people featured in his photos. He works on such series himself and ensures the entire production.

Our Honorable Mention Winner was submitted by
Jesús M.Chamizo  from Madrid, Spain

BEYOND WHAT WE SEE, THERE IS WHAT WE CAN PERCEIVE

I let myself be seduced by the architectural spaces and I interpret, with my way of looking, the sensations that they suggest to me.

"I try to communicate with images the architectural essence and personality, the mark that the human being leaves in his environment, and how that environment influences the human being himself"

Sometimes they can even transform and project into another parallel universe.
