Lightning the way BY Julio Castro Pardo

Picture
Our Second Place Winner was submitted by
Julio Castro Pardo from Oleiros,  A Coruña Spain

I was born in La Coruña, studied pharmacy and it was not until the beginning of the year 2015 that I assaulted my curiosity about photography.

Like most I started taking photos to everything, with techniques like HDR that made the photos look a lot with little work. However, after attending a couple of courses such as the Night Photography and Lightpainting of the Lightbrothers and Alchemist Light I began to become increasingly interested in this type of photography that was so spectacular.

In addition, I was always a big fan of nature and landscapes, and in combination with the long exposure photography that I also used for night, I found the type of photography I wanted to do: Landscape Photography and nightlife.

I hope to grow day after day as a photographer, sharing this hobby with all of you through this website where I will publish besides my photos, my trips in search of locations to immortalize besides various tutorials that may be useful both from my own harvest and of great photographers you find on the net.

Our Third Place Winner was submitted by
Stephan Grixti  from  Zurrieq, Malta

Born and raised on a small island in the heart of the Mediterranean named Malta, I am a self-taught freelance photographer and artist and have been taking photos around the Maltese Islands for the last couple of years.  I bought my first Digital SLR, a Nikon D5200, thee years ago and have been shooting everything ever since, from landscapes to Maltese flora and fauna.  I like to capture anything that catches my eye, or is unusual and interesting.  My source of inspiration comes from the various photographic exhibitions I go to.

Travel photographer.  "Digital nomad".  Hunting for impressions and experiences has been the main motive force of my life since I remember myself, so I optimized the process:  I travel perpetually, document world cultures, and use the revenue to fuel the next move.
