Neo building BY Julio Castro Pardo
Our First Place Winner was submitted by Julio Castro Pardo from La Coruña, Spain
I was born in La Coruña, studied pharmacy and it was not until the beginning of the year 2015 that I assaulted my curiosity about photography.
Like most I started taking photos to everything, with techniques like HDR that made the photos look a lot with little work. However, after attending a couple of courses such as the Night Photography and Lightpainting of the Lightbrothers and Alchemist Light I began to become increasingly interested in this type of photography that was so spectacular.
In addition, I was always a big fan of nature and landscapes, and in combination with the long exposure photography that I also used for night, I found the type of photography I wanted to do: Landscape Photography and nightlife. Vivid Cities by Nicole Urbscheit
Our Third Place Winner was submitted by Nicole Urbscheit from Weeze, Germany
I have always loved photography as art, but first i started with drawing. Since 2010 I discovered photography as a second mean to express myself, always on the search for the secret of light and shadows. Often my photographs are not exactly a foto, my creations are somewhere in between paintings and photography.
I use my camera to transpose the emotions which develop in my mind, the excitements caused by encountered reality. Sometimes the photos can be abstract from reality showing different aspects of colours and forms, whereas another time they can simply reflect certain situations taking place in front of my camera.

City Waves by Hans Wichmann
Our Honorable Mention Winner was also submitted by Hans Wichmann from Cologne, Germany
I come from Cologne / Germany and have been taking photos for a long time.
The main reasons for my photographic skills are patience, exchange with other photographers and the successful participation in photo contests for more than 30 years. In relation to other photographers
In the last 5 years I rediscovered black and white photography.
I am fascinated by shadows and hard contrasts. Architecture is my passion at the moment. I am often at the same place for a photo to capture the perfect lighting mood.
Below are the amazing images that shortlisted into the top tier of this themes competition. A big congratulations to all the talented photographers that participated!
