I am a travel and landscape photographer based in Cologne, Germany and my journey into photography actually started way before I ever picked up a camera. I was actually always into art and drawing and that’s pretty much what I was focused on throughout school. As a photographer I love the challenge of trying to include just enough subjects into the frame to plant a seed of a story and then make the viewer to imagine the rest. I want my viewers to feel like they are right in the middle of the scene.

Alexej was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Inspired by his mother’s photographs, Alexej started photographing in his childhood. He obtained a diploma in rocket engineering & information technologies and realized his creative potential in building complex computer systems in the Ukraine and Germany. Alexej works for SIXT, one of the world’s biggest and most successful technology-driven mobility companies.
Alexej is a passionate diver and attracted by the challenges of the underwater photography. He joined the Kyiv School of Photography, which allowed him to complete diverse courses and workshops, helping him cultivate his skills and train his eye to capture the beauty of our world.
Alexej’s underwater photos are successful in FineArt, Abstract, Landscape/Seascape, Travel, Environmental, Conceptual, Nature, Wildlife and Underwater categories of various professional competitions. As part of collective exhibitions, the photos have been presented in Los Angeles, New York, London, Dresden, and Kyiv.

I would like to call myself an “ambitious amateur photographer”. My main focus is nature and landscape photography, but I also like to make detours to other genres.
Everything I know about photography is self-educated. A few books here, some internet research there, inspiration from the works of other photographers and a lot, really a lot of trying things out has brought me to where I am today.
My great happiness is my home on beautiful Lake Constance, where I have a lot of photo spots right on my doorstep and the way to the Austrian, Swiss and Italian Alps is not too far. I also love to travel to more exotic destinations on my vacation, with the north being particularly appealing to me.
