WINNERS GALLERY Dec 2020

"Minimalism " 2020 THEME WINNERS

Minimalism or the absence of distractions from shadows, light and often a single subject, line or emotion is also the core of every photograph we take where instead of being subtle and undefined it becomes the dramatic force of the image.

Another Dimension BY Mark Boyle

Picture
Our First Place Winner was submitted by
Mark Boyle from Jolimont, Australia
Photography has been the one constant throughout my life since my early teens. I worked as a commercial photographer in the 1990’s but left the industry in 1997 to study multimedia technology. However, since then I have concentrated on my own photography when possible, focusing mainly on landscape and travel. Most recently I have begun exploring aerial photography. Something I have wanted to do for a very long time as I felt it would be a medium well suited to my style and aesthetic.

Our Second Place Winner was submitted by
Constance Jaeggi from Weatherford, Texas

I have always had a fascination with horses which in part stems from my interest in the essential role they played in the development of modern civilizations. At the heart of the relationship between horses and humans is a large paradox.  At once a tool in conquests and war because of their tremendous power and capacity for speed, they remain a herd and prey animal. Through photography both inside and outside of the studio, I explore the duality of these flighty yet mighty animals, as well as their relationships with humans, in particular with women whose livelihoods still depend on these animals.

Our Third Place Winner was submitted by
Judith Kuhn from Immenstaad, Germany
I am a nature photographer - I mainly shoot landscapes, animals and plants.

My goal is to make moody moments last. Colorful sunsets, magical fog moods and the nature in the change of the seasons belong to the highlights in photography for me.

I live in southern Germany on the beautiful Lake Constance, where I have some excellent fotospots right outside the front door. The German, Austrian and Swiss Alps are not far away either. But I also like traveling to more distant destinations around the world.
