Black and White is at the core of the art, being the original format of photography and it requires us to look at line, shadow and contrast in such a different way when shooting.

My name is Muhammad Almasri, Chess Player and Photographer born and raised in Zarqa, Jordan. I always feel that time behind my camera lens is short, regardless of how much time I spend trying to capture the photos.
Our Honorable Mention Winner was submitted by Yuliy Vasilev from Plovdiv, Bulgaria
Yuliy is a street photographer, born in 1985 in Bulgaria. Since young age he was very keen on travelling and discovering new places and cultures, which led him to study in the field of tourism, he is a holder of a Master degree in Business Management. In one of his trips to London in the beginning of 2012 he discovered that photography is his real passion. Ever since he is devoted to urban photography, it is his life and love. Yuliy’s talent to spot the details and to see the street in a different perspective made his pictures to stand out very quickly. Since 2019 he holds the prestigious EFIAP/Bronze title from the International Federation of Photographic Art, the highest ranked photographer from Bulgaria. and so far his photographs has won more than 100 awards on six continents. “It is not what you see on the street, but how you see it.”
