"MINIMALISM" 2024 THEME WINNERS

Minimalism or the absence of distractions from shadows, light and often a single subject, line or emotion is also the core of every photograph we take where instead of being subtle and undefined it becomes the dramatic force of the image.

Lost In Space BY Adam Neuba

Picture
Our First Place Winner was submitted by
Adam Neuba from Paderborn, Germany

Adam Neuba is a natural scientist, self-taught photographer, and artist. Adam was born in Poland and moved to Germany with his family in 1988 at the age of 10. After his school education he studied and graduated in chemistry at the University of Paderborn, where he currently works. More than ten years ago he started to devote himself intensively to photography, and over time he discovered his passion for artistic close-up and macro photography. Adam's artistic style and photographic sensibility have emerged from his inquisitive and explorative creative process. His aesthetically minimalist compositions are characterized by fascinating perspectives and play of light in which elements of nature and man-made technology merge into a unique entity.

Our Third Place Winner was submitted by
Alireza Pourkhan from Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Alireza has been passionate about photography for more than 30 years, ever since his parents gave him a Yashica MF2 as a birthday gift when he was 15 years old. Although he always wanted to receive methodical and academic education in the art of photography, it wasn’t possible for him. He learned this art from people and from the good and unfavorable events in his life, which have served as excellent teachers for him. He believes that a photograph can be far more impressive than, at times, hundreds of words.  With an image, he can express his feelings perhaps better than with many sentences. Since 2010, when he was able to buy his first digital SLR camera, he became even more fascinated and focused more on photography. He has managed to acquire 43 gold medals and more than 20 silver and bronze medals in over 250 photographic salons, contests, and exhibitions in 65 countries. He holds the distinctions of “Excellence FIAP” and “Artist FIAP” from the Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique (International Federation of Photographic Art) , “Crown 2” from the Global Photographic Union  and “Proficiency PSA” from the Photographic Society of America.
