The more Photographers the greater the competition and the larger the prize. Cash Awards are directly related to how competitive the Theme is and how many entries it receives, the more contestants there are in a Competition Theme the larger the payout prizes will be.
The bottom line for us is the bottom line, this site is about and set up to support you, not us! Our Winners own 50% of this operation as 50% of all entry fees are paid out to the them every month, the rest of the entry fees go to our judges and operational costs.
